Sedbergh Courses and The Magic Academy are teaming up to hold a number of sport camps in April. John Fletcher and Russell Earnshaw from The Magic Academy will be joined by Sedbergh's Jason Duffy and Simon Verbickas as the rugby Coaches and Gary Johnson will be lead coach for the hockey, delivering fun and inspiring camps. Working under the guidelines of the RFU & Hockey they will be looking to develop technical skills and tactical awareness. Each day will be divided in to four quarters where we will play lots of different games and break some skills down in a skill zone area to develop a framework for all children to reference in the future.

KEY POINTS FOR PARENTS
- Please drop children off after 9.15am and pick up no earlier than 3.30pm (unless agreed with coaches).
- Bring one spare kit a day (April weather).
- Please bring a packed lunch and a morning and afternoon snack.
- Each individual to bring their own named water bottle.
- Children will be working in groups of no more than 20 and will remain in those groups for the week.
- All children will be aksed to regularly wash and sanitize their hands.
- Coaches will regularly sanitize any equipment used.

JOHN FLETCHER
John started out as Head Coach of the Newcastle Falcons Academy before being promoted to Senior Director of Rugby. He was soon head hunted for a role with the RFU as Head Coach of the England U18 team with the clear brief to prepare players to win the World Cup. John has been instrumental in developing high performing young players such as Anthony Watson, Owen Farrell, George Ford, Maro Itoje and the Vunipola brothers who all pay testament to his influence their careers.
russell earnshaw
As a player Russell won the Hieneken Cup with Bath and played for England on the IRB Sevens circuit, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, and was part of the squad that played in the IRB World Series tournaments from 1999 to 200. Then as the assistant coach for England 7s he won back to back Dubai titles, Twickenham 7s and England's first ever victory at the Wellington 7s. He then worked alongside John for the England Rugby Elite Development Pathway.
JASON DUFFY
Jason played professional rugby for Sale Sharks representing England Under 16’s, 18’s and England Counties before injury cut his playing career short. An RFU Level 3 coach he has lots of experience from coaching the Sale Sharks academy, Attack coach for England U16’s and currently Head of the Easter & Summer Sedbergh Courses Coaching Team. Inspire, Empower and Develop is a coaching mantra that he truly believes in and he can’t wait to work on the Bowdon Camp this half term.
SIMON VERBICKAS
Simon was a truly outstanding player and his exciting style led to him representing Lancashire, England U21’s and Samurai in the World 7’s Series. As a coach Simon has a RFU Level 3 accreditation and lots of experience across the game. Simon has been employed by the RFU for the last 10 years developing rugby across Cheshire. he is currently Director of Rugby at Wirral Rugby and having successful spells at Caldy and Chester. He is also currently doing some project work leading the Lithuanian National side.
gary johnson
Gary Johnson started coaching Hockey in 2002, initially coaching both junior and senior club sections, before specialising in junior development. In 2014 he became a Coach developer for GB Hockey where he joined a team responsible for the development of coaches across schools, clubs and the player pathway. In 2015 Gary started coaching in the England Hockey Junior Player Pathway and became Head Coach within the Player Pathway in 2018.
