Sedbergh Courses inspire over 400 young people in high-impact February camps across the UK
Sedbergh Courses has delivered an outstanding series of February half-term camps across the North of England and Scotland, inspiring more than 400 young participants through a dynamic programme of elite coaching, community partnerships and transformational experiences.
Taking place at Sandbach Rugby Club, Tynedale Rugby Club, West Park Leeds, Heaton Moor Rugby Club, Wharfedale Rugby Club and Cargilfield Preparatory School in Edinburgh, the camps brought together aspiring young athletes from across the region in what has become one of the UK’s leading outreach programmes for youth development through sport.
Supported by an exceptional team of 27 coaches, including renowned figures Russell Earnshaw, Charlie Hodgson, Scott Riddell and Sedbergh School’s Head of Rugby, Sam Moore, the week combined high-performance training with an environment designed to build confidence, character and lifelong passion for sport.
The programme also celebrated six key partnerships, reflecting Sedbergh Courses’ growing national footprint and its commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality experiences beyond the School’s campus.
Jason Duffy, Course Director at Sedbergh Courses, said:
“This February programme has been truly exceptional. Across every venue, the energy and enthusiasm from both participants and coaches has been extraordinary. We saw young people pushing themselves, developing new skills and embracing challenges with positivity and that is exactly what Sedbergh Courses is all about.”
At the heart of every camp is the Sedbergh G.O.L.D. philosophy, Growth, Originality, Leadership and Determination, a framework that underpins both coaching delivery and the wider experience for participants.
“Our philosophy goes far beyond technical coaching,” added Duffy. “We aim to inspire young people to grow as individuals, develop resilience and discover confidence in their abilities. Watching these values come to life throughout the week, through teamwork, leadership and countless golden moments, has been incredibly rewarding.”
From first-time players discovering a new love for rugby to experienced athletes refining their performance skills, the camps created an inclusive environment where fun, learning and personal development were equally celebrated.
Sedbergh Courses extended sincere thanks to families and partner organisations for their continued trust and support.
“We are deeply grateful to parents and partners who place their trust in us. Providing a safe, inspiring and enriching environment is at the core of everything we do. We hope every child has returned home with new friendships and lasting memories.”
Momentum continues as bookings open for the highly anticipated Easter and Summer residential camps at Sedbergh School, widely recognised as among the UK’s leading residential course programmes. Next week, the Sedbergh Courses team will travel to Dubai as part of their expanding international outreach, sharing the School’s and Courses’ values-driven approach with young people around the world.
