In 2021 & 2022 Sedbergh Courses has had over 1600 children attend one of our half term camps held at Clubs and Schools around the country. We are delighted to say that Sedbergh Courses and The Magic Academy will once again be running a series of one and two day Rugby Camps over the February half-term in 2023. The Rugby Camps will be held at West Park Leeds, Chester and Bowdon. John Fletcher and Russell Earnshaw from The Magic Academy and Tom Mitchell will be the Head Coaches, supported by Sedbergh's own Simon Verbickas.

Developing better contact skills, becoming more tactically aware (#BeatTheGame) and in general becoming a more skilful player will occupy the curriculum of the course. Working under the guidelines of the RFU they will be looking to develop technical skills and tactical awareness. Each day will be divided in to four quarters where we will play lots of different games and break some skills down in a "skill zone" area to develop a framework for all children to reference in the future.

Tom’s 7s rugby career also included two Commonwealth Games appearances, including a bronze medal in 2018. And three Rugby 7s World Cup appearances.

"I wanted to say how much our son enjoyed your camp at Lymm over Easter. By far the best rugby camp he’d been to and obviously loved being on home turf."

"Just wanted to drop you a quick message to say how much my lads enjoyed the two day course, they have come back today buzzing about it!"

Bowdon RUFC's Rugby Camp April 2021 -  Parent

"My son thoroughly enjoyed his two days with you, he has been to many rugby camps in the past but said that this one was the best by far! He loved all the different activities and games and thought the coaches were brilliant. He said that his legs need a rest today but that he'd do the camp all over again tomorrow if he could, he had such a fantastic time."

Macclesfield RUFC's Rugby Camp April 2021 -  Parent

"The experience I saw “my” players having today was exceptional! I came home with a smile on my face a mile wide! Coaching how it should be done, players engaged and smiling, not a raised voice but a culture of fun to get the best from the guys! The fact that every child had a voice and a valid opinion is testament to the mutual respect from players and coaches. Players were encouraged to have input whilst the coaches encouraged even the meekest to pipe up with their thoughts. A fabulous example of youth coaching from the very top draw. Your team is of the highest calibre and I think it was a privilege for Bowdon to host you."
