Sedbergh Courses are delighted to be returning to Abu Dhabi in February 2025 for the Sports Camp at the Club, Abu Dhabi.
This camp emphasises fun while subtly fostering personal character traits that benefit athletes in their later years.
At Sedbergh we believe children best develop skills and attitudes when they are inspired. Our intention is to create skilful, adaptable people both on and off the pitch. GOLD underpins all the above. Sedbergh’s Thread of GOLD: - GROWTH, ORIGINALITY, LEADERSHIP and DETERMINATION is integrated into each programme with fun and enjoyment at the very heart of delivery.
If you have any questions at all please contact HCRECEPTION@THE-CLUB.COM for further information
Ellie Thompson
Ellie developed a passion for sport and physical activity at school, enjoying the variety of sport on offer including hockey, swimming, athletics, lacrosse and cross country. Post school, Ellie continued to play hockey, representing Loughborough Students Union Hockey Club and the North of England U21’s, in addition to studying for her Sport Science degree. It was here she found her passion for coaching. Following university, Ellie secured a part time role leading the boys hockey programme at Sedbergh Preparatory School and after stamping her mark, was offered a full time job as a post graduate sports assistant and her first role within Sedbergh Courses in Easter 2018.
Ellie then undertook her PGCE in secondary Physical Education with EBACC Biology before completing 3 years at Hymers College, teaching GCSE & A-level PE, Science, Games and leading their athletics and girls hockey provisions. Most recently Ellie has rejoined Sedbergh Preparatory School and is Head of Girls Games and Friday Clubs Coordinator.
Leilani Umaga
Leilani is passionate about all sports, having been around a professional Rugby environment whilst growing up, but specifically Netball. I have been part of teams and clubs since I was 8 and it is a sport that I wish to continue to be a part of for many years to come, now navigating my netball coaching career. Early years child development is key for me because it allows the child to develop physically and cognitively, along with learning other factors along the way such as team work, sportsmanship, and the highs and lows of winning and losing. In sport, it’s important for them to find a love for all sports at a young age, to encourage them to be a part of a sporting community through all ages of their life.
