STEAM combines the benefits of the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) with the Arts. STEAM activities are fun and engaging and the integration of the subjects allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas by looking at complex real world problems promoting inquiry, innovation and critical thinking.
On the course children will look at design and manufacturing skills through the use of CAD & CAM programmes and investigate the world of coding and programming to help design and create their own products (examples – Clock / lamp / USB pen / leather notebook cover / treasure box / fidget toy).
They will also develop an understanding of engineering principals through the build and launch of a Rocket giving them hands on practical experience using modern advanced facilities.

“It was a real pleasure and privilege to take part in a STEAM Day at Sedbergh Prep School. Year 5 and 6 had an amazing day learning how to design and make their own rockets that they launched in the afternoon. A massive thank you to Sedbergh Prep School for working with and supporting us in this area of work”.
