COURSE DATES 31 JULY-3 AUGUST 2017
FOR AGES 10-15
FULLY RESIDENTIAL – £449
Returning for his second year at Sedbergh, Bernie Moss brings a wealth of experience as a former Great Britain Olympic and National Coach. He has been the GB National Modern Pentathlon Coach for the Senior, Junior and Youth Teams, and is an International Modern Pentathlon Coach & Educator for the International Governing Body (UIPM).
Modern Pentathlon is made up of the five diverse disciplines of Fencing, Shooting, Running, Swimming and Riding. The unique opportunity here is for young athletes to experience new events, however familiar or experienced they may already be in just one or two.
Bernie and his team will tailor the course sessions to suit the ability of the athletes attending, in order that both those already experienced in Modern Pentathlon looking to improve further, as well as those wanting to “come and try” the individual disciplines will all learn new skills and improve technique.
“I thoroughly enjoyed being at Sedbergh last year, working with a great group of children, of all ages and ability and experience of the disciplines. As well as improving physical skills, shooting helps tune mental skills and fencing the co-ordination skills. I was really impressed by the hard work and enthusiasm, and, on top of that, we all had a lot of fun and laughter!”
“Having been slightly nervous before leaving my son on the Modern Pentathlon course, because some of it was new to him, I was so impressed that the week was styled so that he and everyone, not only learned a lot, even being at different standards, but that they all had so much fun too, thank you all.”
